How does this work? |

When you submit a domain name transfer request, an email will be sent to the listed Administrative Contact for that domain name. Please make sure you can accept email at this address, if you are not sure do a whois look-up. To activate the transfer request, simply click on the link sent in the email. You will then receive a response from your current registrar, confirming the request. You must acknowledge this email as well. |

Once I transfer my name to you, does my time of renewal change? |

Yes, it simply adds one year to the time you have left on your current registration. |

Is there a fee for transferring a domain name to mirahost? |

There is no fee to transfer a domain, other then the yearly registration fee for the domain. This will be listed next to the domain during the order process. |

Is there any reason why a transfer would be rejected? |
 |
To initiate a domain transfer you must be sure that you can check the email address listed as the Administrative Contact for the domain, this is where the approval emails will be sent. Also the domain cannot have an expired status and it must be at least 60 days old, or have been with the current registrar for at least 60 days. Each registrar may have it's own policy on waiting periods and should be consulted should a question arise. |

Is hosting a name the same thing as transferring a name? |

No, hosting means that you are leaving the name with another registrar and only using mirahost's hosting services for your website. You will need to update the name server information for your domain to do this. |

Is there a charge by mirahost if I decide to transfer away to another registrar at a later date? |

No, we do not charge you to move away from us. |

If I transfer my name to mirahost, will it interrupt the service of a domain that is already being hosted? |
